Welcome to Mid-Century Photo Friday – if you’ve never found it before, this is a great time to join!
My post is a follow up to last week’s post about a $7600 3 bedroom house featured in this 1958 issue of Women’s Day – and here (drum-roll please) is the interior:

Witco – Tiki and 60′s cool!

The first time I heard about Witco was on a discussion on a Mid-Century Facebook group about Tiki art, the name that kept coming up was Witco, with a link to this post on a Tiki Fan board:
My name is Burke Hovde (aka…The Witco Kid on www.tikicentral.com). I’m the son of Ron Hovde, one of [...]

Updating and renovating? Purist?

I was thinking about renovating this morning – mainly because we’re at a lull on projects until we have some money drop in our lap! But I was looking at some real estate ads in Palm Springs (pretty much the mid-century capital) and one mentioned that the kitchen had been “ruined” in an [...]

Catching up and my Goodwill find!

We have had an insane summer – crazy busy. we’ve moved and taken all of our mid-century finds into a 1970′s home in the burbs. We still own and love our 50′s house, but we’re loaning it to someone else for a while!
In settling in tho we have more room (hooray) and so [...]
