Ted Cleary is a landscape architect with a special affinity for the modernist garden design vocabulary of the ‘40s, ‘50s, and ‘60s.  His firm Studio Cleary Landscape Architecture focuses primarily on landscape projects for single-family homes.  Ted contributes occasional blogposts to introduce readers to the design styles from back in the day of such iconic LAs as Garrett Eckbo and Robert Royston --- practitioners whose work was greatly influenced by the Expressionist painters of their time like Kandinsky and Picasso.  Their approach to garden design is largely forgotten but remains as fresh, fun, and dynamic for today’s generation of midcentury modern home lovers as ever.  You can view more of SCLA's work here

Mid-Century Style Guest post guidelines!

What kind of content do you accept?

We are ONLY looking for items with Mid-Century style knowledge (please do not send us general home improvement articles).  We are not interested in generic home improvement articles or lighting and furniture articles. If you do not know what Mid-Century is, please do not submit a request! 🙂 However, if you like what we do here, feel free to share your expertise or knowledge, we’d love to share it with our readers. There is no minimum length for your post. We’d rather post quality over quantity.

Guidelines • You can include up to two links in the byline, which will be displayed. • Your content must be of value to the reader and not purely self promotional. • We have the right to turn down anything that we think will not be of value to our readers.

How do I submit my guest post? If you have a post that meets the guidelines above, you can send it to me on via email editor@midcenturystyle.net.   We’ll get back to you to let you know. I will let you know in a reasonable amount of time when I can run the piece and if I can’t (for some reason) run it, I will give you a reason. Posts can be submitted as rich text with html or Word documents (I can accept most versions of Word). If you do use Word, please send photos separately – we can pull photos out of documents, but it’s kind of a pain!
