No renovations. Just garage sales and trying to clean up. When we get our garage in better shape I’ll take a picture and show you what we’ve been up to. I’ve been enjoying our latest project which is my studio that I do needlework in.

Other than that, the only pending project is a fence between [...]

We don’t have air conditioning. Why? Well, money….partly. But also because my last house (a totally remuddled bungalow – that’s another story entirely) had air conditioning and the basement was uninhabitable when it was on.
Our house has a garden level basement and I would hate to have it be too cold. Many folks in our [...]

Our landscape is definately a work in progress…this is a perfect example. We need to work on some erosion control here. Then, we were thinking grass – but I got the great idea to do our herb garden here. Has it happened….NO! (Oh, and the fence is going to be replaced. The neighbor is going [...]

There was some confusion over the last picture I posted and then I realized I haven’t even posted a good picture of our house…here it is!

design*sponge is one of my favorite clean contemporary item blogs. She always seems to post some neat things – all of which would look great in my home if I didn’t have a 3 and 4 year old! (ha, ha!)

It’s neat because there are heaps of things you can clip to the rail…figures that drop down with lights and all sorts [...]

The kitchen now looks like this:
This first picture is why I posted the picture of the wall and picture before….that’s the before and this is the after…we LOVE our monorail! There was also that really weird 1/2 wall and doorway which is now gone with just a big opening. Most of this was done to [...]

This is an old post from my other blog (about crazyquilting and artquilting) but is really more relevant to this blog…(I’m going to have to go through and see if I have other entries that are that way as well). Anyway, I own two decorating books from the 1950’s and these are some lovely selections [...]

Where to begin on our house? Hmmm, well I’m actually playing “catch up” because we’ve lived here for 3 years. The FIRST thing we did was remodel the kitchen. Maybe I’ll start by reliving that experience. Here are a few pictures of the “before”:

Not only was it ugly, but TOTALLY non functional…there was NO counter [...]
