When I started this blog in 2005, I realized there was a real shortage in midcentury resources. I would love this site to be a resource for remodeling and restoring 50’s and 60’s homes with resources, links to blogs and other helpful places.

We live in Denver, Colorado and started a houseblog while surfing for helpful links. We quickly realized that there is lots of “modern” style, but nothing that addresses the 50’s/60’s homeowner that doesn’t want to turn it into a bungalow and has a lifestyle that includes kids, a budget, etc.

We now have a collection of really cool books, which I have blogged about and I have several friends with 50’s houses (pink tile bathrooms in one and purple and black in the other). My neighbors have the coolest wallpaper in the world in their basement…Vegas in the 50’s. Our neighborhood is peppered with houses like ours that have owners who are beginning to cherish what they have!

We’re slowly redecorating our house in a combination of family friendly, modern and Danish Modern styles. Because of this, I started an area with definitions of 50’s styles on the regular blog.
