The bathroom plan – so far

Ok, so I may take flack, but yes, we’re taking down the pink plastic tiles in the bathroom, too many are missing or broken and so we’re replacing it all with square black tile. Here’s what we’re planning for a vanity (to the right).

Then we’re going to inset some glass tiles in a stripe around the bathroom. So, we’re not really going with much 50’s – more modern – but I’m going to do 50’s accessories (bark cloth shower curtain) and I really would love these lights.

Well, that’s the plan, tomorrow we’re going shopping, so wish us luck. We have a small budget, and a vision and not a ton of time (with broken pipes and kids and such). So, I’m hoping you will all approve of the finished project! 🙂

First, my apologies if you ran across any. Second….I’m going to have to look into upping security on this blog. So, if you have to jump through hoops to send me a comment…please do! I don’t care if I NEVER look

My mother's spice rack

Over at RetroRenovation, my Mother’s spice rack showed up: Pam calls this Kromex (brand) “pink aluminum”. Very cool! I spent the day surfing around and finding neat blogs, etc. I signed up for Technorati Profile, and added the code in my sidebar, so grab that if it’s easy for you. It’s amazing how lost you can get in the internet these days. What are you favorite 50’s design or houseblogs?

Architectural Definitions for the Mid-Century Enthusiast

I don’t consider myself an expert, just an expert surfer and reader of other blogs. So this past weekend I spent some time putting together a couple of definitions pages. The first is Architectural Definitions for the Mid Century enthusiast. One thing I noticed was sadly lacking when we purchased a mid century home was information. Now there are some enthusiasts, but most are VERY enthusiastic and know everything about the world of architecture in
