The Mecca Motel is located right between Old Colorado City and Manitou Springs right outside of Colorado Springs Colorado.

We headed to Colorado Springs to explore and to maybe help the area with a little boost after the wild fires of the summer – there is tons to do (if you’re looking for activities, watch for our posts on Denver Parent).

Family owned for over 30 years, Gary, the owner of the Mecca Motel, shows obvious pride in his little motel – pointing out that “tons of people stop by to take pictures of that sign!”.

The best part is the motel is definitely worth staying in. Clean (although sadly to the retro-minded – modernized rooms), with fun amenities like a retro ice machine that takes tokens, the motel is maintains some retro items – like the ice machine and the pool slide, but it’s very clean and somewhat modernized!

The pool was small, but fun and the kids LOVED the retro slide into it!

The motel is handy – located just outside of Manitou Springs and right after you go through Old Colorado City.  Lots of places to eat and really close to tons of activities including the Manitou Cliff Dwellings.
