Trading Spaces: Klare's room….the pictures…..

So, I’m kind of waiting to hear if Trading Spaces will let me dish the “behind the scenes story” and all the really cool dirt about what went on! Summary…the girls, had a blast, said they’d do it again and were very very tired. There were a couple of fights and a couple of “staging” dramas….but you’ll have to check back to see if I’m allowed to talk about any of that! 🙂

So, here’s Klare’s house finito! She had a new VERY young designer (24) and apparently was a bit of a control freak, but she’s delighted with the results!:

The wall behind the sheer drapes is all fabric and looks pretty cool! The recovered the chair too.
The shelves are fantastic! However, most of the drama was about this piece. The piece on the top used to be on the floor, but with a toddler, he was already starting to tear it apart (thus the relocation to the top of the shelves).
I think that it looks pretty cool. This obviously isn’t the “staged” finish – she’s been living in it for a week, but it sounds like it was a pretty exciting experience.

And I had always wondered what the house looked like after….apparently it was TRASHED! However, they give them money for a cleaning budget, so that’s good, eh?

We’re having a premier party in October…one of the local restaurants was so excited to have the crew that they offered to host it! So, look for that.

I’ll try to get pictures of the other room today! What do you all think? (be sure to refer to previous post for “before”)

Mid Century Food – Yummy!

If you have your head in a mid-century fog, you might have missed Mid-Century Menu a category/feature on “No Pattern Required”, where Ruth makes the long-suffering Tom try a myriad of fabulous (ahem, see the picture in the post? maybe not?) dishes!  The feature got so popular that Ruth has spun off a separate blog where she can abuse (oops, I meant “test”) more recipes on poor Tom. Here’s my most recent Mid-Century find! I

Final Trading Spaces Post

Ok, so I finally got over to take photos of my friends completed home…the 2nd of the Trading Spaces houses: The piece of furniture they built! It looks great…not sure if you can see in the picture, but there are lots of little details (like the one on the upper left on the ceiling). It did have a refrigerator and microwave in there, but she has removed it because the kids aren’t allowed to eat
