Mad Men Update: show delayed until spring but it’s happening!

I’m not sure if anyone else was wondering, but I was curious what was up with the “Mad Men” and taping for next year. The show has been delayed, but thanks to some dispute resolution,

One of the negatives of success is conflict and it appears there’s been a ton when it comes to “Mad Men”. Matt Weiner finally signed a new contract in April  with the main dispute being over his salary and the running time of the show (he didn’t want them to increase the advertising time during the show). This means that each episode of “Mad Men” will now cost approximately $3 million per episode.

However, because of this huge budget, there’s speculation that “Mad Men” may be hurting AMC’s other shows…in the last two weeks, the network has pushed for cuts to both Breaking Bad and The Walking Dead.

In this interview, Elisabeth Moss says she’s itching to get back to work, and that they will finally start shooting next week! “Mad Men” is slated to return to AMC on March 16, 2012.

So, what does everyone think of the new show Pan Am – will it give Mad Men a run for it’s money?

We need window help!

Well, here’s the update from our world. Last month we acquired a good window air conditioner that we can have installed for practically nothing. However, we have side opening windows, so we need to replace them – and frankly they are metal, which on a brick house is deadly for heat efficiency. So, we’re switching to vinyl. Bad, I know, but frankly they look better than the metal ones…and we can put in the air

Las Vegas and Mid-Century Icon The Sahara closes today

The Sahara Hotel closes tomorrow, Monday, May 16th at 2:00 pm.  Having gone from big plans of restoration to succumbing to the bad economy, they just couldn’t keep it afloat any longer and it’s closing it’s doors. The Sahara has a colorful history and it was here the Beatles stayed when they played the Convention Center back in 1964.  From its inception the list of major acts that performed on property is truly staggering and

There are lots of sites with really old fabric, but Mid-Century is a bit harder to track down. Here are just a few of the sites we found: Contemporary Cloth They have a goal to provide

Sal is gone. sniff

Got this little tidbit from Project Rungay. Apparently Sal isn’t coming back. According to Matthew Weiner, “We don’t murder people on our show, but for there to be any stakes, there have to be consequences …  But I felt it was an expression of the times that he couldn’t work there anymore. It’s the ultimate case of sexual harassment.” Interesting new development. Gosh, I can’t wait until next season, can you? If you want, pop
