Mad Men Update: show delayed until spring but it’s happening!

I’m not sure if anyone else was wondering, but I was curious what was up with the “Mad Men” and taping for next year. The show has been delayed, but thanks to some dispute resolution,

One of the negatives of success is conflict and it appears there’s been a ton when it comes to “Mad Men”. Matt Weiner finally signed a new contract in April  with the main dispute being over his salary and the running time of the show (he didn’t want them to increase the advertising time during the show). This means that each episode of “Mad Men” will now cost approximately $3 million per episode.

However, because of this huge budget, there’s speculation that “Mad Men” may be hurting AMC’s other shows…in the last two weeks, the network has pushed for cuts to both Breaking Bad and The Walking Dead.

In this interview, Elisabeth Moss says she’s itching to get back to work, and that they will finally start shooting next week! “Mad Men” is slated to return to AMC on March 16, 2012.

So, what does everyone think of the new show Pan Am – will it give Mad Men a run for it’s money?

As usual you can leave a link to your Mid-Century Photo Friday in the comments.

Terra Cotta windowsill detail and fire safety

It’s a bit hard to see, but we have cool curved walls into each of the windows and terra cotta window sills (I think they’re terra cotta). Unfortunately we also have plastic storm windows, bleck! However, they’re better than no storm windows at all! On the subject of windows, we’re taking off the bars on our lower back side of our house (pictures to come later). I got particularly freaked out by the fire safety
